The Big Picture
A visit to Cinco Rios Lodge and Estancia del Zorro allow anglers to fish large and small public rivers and lakes, private spring creeks and rivers, and access to some of the region’s most remote waters. A trip to each lodge—or choosing the Best of Patagonia combo trip—ensures anglers will fish incredible trout waters, in two different Chilean landscapes, with some of the region’s most knowledgeable guides.
Anglers can float larger rivers like the Rio Simpson or walk-and-wade private creeks. Our guides also offer jet boat trips on beautiful lakes to fish productive inlets or target cruising fish.
The diversity of fishing options ensures every angler will find their favorite water.
How We Get It Done
Most anglers use nine-foot 5 or 6 weight rods with floating lines. Throughout the season we fish a variety of attractor dry flies but opportunities to target selective trout with small flies or fish large streamers exist as well. Some of our favorite small streams are best fished on foot, but on larger rivers and lakes we use a variety of rafts, jet boats, and drift boats, all of which are built for fly fishing and have comfortable seats.
Both lodges have a small selection of loaner rods and reels available, but anglers should plan on bringing their own equipment, including waders and boots. Cinco Rios Lodge has a small fly shop where favorite local patterns are available to guests.
